Travel / Big Bites: Malaysia Trip (25/03/14 - 27/03/14)

Day 1 :
Travelling to Malaysia by bus for the first time.
It wasnt much about the clothes there but the food there. Residing in my friend's condo, it looks really like our Singapore HDB estates just that, it is only four levels high.

Sweet and Sour pork rice, better than expected (this should be labelled under Big Bites instead)
first meal, was satisfying. So while my friends search for clothes, I was in search of chairs. Johor Bahru is really about food more than fashion. So be prepared if you cant buy any clothes from JB. However their must trys are food!

Trust me, that was the biggest sugarcane drink Ive seen you could compare it with the cup beside it. HUGE i must say. The third picture from the seafood was Fried Squid (Sotong jian) instead of those normal typical Fried Oyster you see in Singapore, they have Fried Squid, I ordered for a second round, heavenly~ That was actually my favourite dish among all that day. (7.8 / 10)

Day 2 :
Day 2 was one of the best breakfast in my 18 years of living ( first best: Raw fish with cuttlefish pork porridge & Sweet potatoes ball @ Chinatown)
Chee Cheong Fan, savoury. the sauce is very important because if the amount is too little, the 'fen' will be dry and tasteless. Best.
Carrot Cake, to a person who wasnt a fan of carrot cakes this sets the standard for all the carrots cakes Ive tried so far.
Xiao Long Bao, Thin skin, overflowing soup became my criteria for a good xiao long bao. ( Criteria Achieved)
I didnt try the da bao, too big for me.

Lui Sha Bao (Custard Bun), WOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It taste like those fried bun we go with when we eat chilli crab accompanied with sweet custard and a milky taste.

Chrysanthemum tea. (7 / 10 )

I remembered eating this dish, but as for the taste, I totally forgot all about it.

I regretted so much when I was in Bali a few years back on an overseas trip programme and I never ordered it. Actually, I was almost broke then. Finally, my life few years back was completed. Coke float baby. I wished they bring A&W back to Singapore. Ive heard they used to be in Singapore.

Day 3
Day 2 was one of the best breakfast, Day 3 was one of the best lunch.

Claypot Fried Beancurd, While the sauce was boiling, the fried beancurd wasnt soggy and wet. Rather, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. (8 / 10 )
Meat Palette? Roasted Duck, Char siew, Roasted Pork.

Fried You Tiao

Thats a really brief post about my  trip to Malaysia. Sorry I took so long. So I try to get to the point, focusing on the main parts only. Will try harder to bring better updates

Weekly Updates: Fashion

Yes, I know. Empty promises again. However, I have to speak for myself. Polytechnic life have started, this is the first week. It can be considered a breeze when it comes to the lesson arrangements. However the topics shared this week was a lot different compared to secondary. I had to do constant revision to grasp onto what has been shared earlier in the day. Hence....I know I could have made time. So apparently the only time I was obsessed with something was today. That would be leather bags. My love for fabric tote bags has always been the all time favourite. I was browsing through my instagram and I saw this person I followed ( @cassysong). She took this picture of her leather bag. I was instantly in love with her bag. I went to search for similar bags sold in Singapore. The only one was Dr. Martens at $239. From this, I can conclude that Singapore can be realllllly boring sometimes. All they sell are either branded labels or what i like to call, " extra fashion". Fashion which originally was comparable to the branded labels but out of nowhere, they added something somewhere. So all in all, that "extra fashion" ruin the whole clothing. In a nutshell, the kind of clothes sold in Singapore ranges from "extra fashion" fashion to branded labels fashion. the fashion in between are the kind of clothes I am wearing. Or maybe slightly below the median. Im not a rich sweetie. Im just the girl next door staying in a suburban HBD estate.

Enough of those complaining, back to the topic about leather bags. Leather bags suit most of the styles wore by Singapores. Shorts and shirt, Dresses, Skirts, jeans, pants and jumpsuits even overalls. Yes, its a hint out there to readers in Singapore, if you find any shops selling related bags PUH LEASE TELL ME.
